Description

Fragrant Double Tuberose
Why not plant a pot of the most fragrant bulb in the world and enjoy a summer of exquisite heady scents? The tuberose is so popular its fragrance is used in some of our most expensive high-end perfumes. Its foliage is like grass, but its flowers forms erect stems laden with masses of creamy-white blooms, which make a lovely, long-lasting cut flower. It thrives in sunny sheltered locations, in well-drained soil.

Bulb Starter 500g
Endorsed by the RHS Bulb Starter is the perfect formulation to ensure any bulb gets off to the best start. Apply one handful for small bulbs or corms, or two handfuls for large bulbs or tubers.

Cultural Notes

  • Soil - Fertile free-draining,consistently moist
  • Position - Sun
  • Cutting -
  • Flowering - Spring/Summer
  • Additional Information - Keep the soil consistently moist throughout active growth as this will aid in the plants overall health and development. After the flowering period, bulbs should be dug up or transplanted and stored over the winter period. This will protect them from frost damage. Continue to water Polianthes, taking care not to waterlog the soil. Feed with a liquid fertiliser every couple of weeks throughout active growth as this will encourage profuse blooming.
