Cultural Notes

  • Soil - Unfussy on soil conditions but do dislike acidic.
  • Position - Sun or partial shade
  • Cutting - Yes
  • Flowering - May to September
  • Additional Information - Attractive to bees and butterflies. Scented. Perfect for borders and containers. Deadhead to encourage more blooms, 'Early Birds' varieties can be sheared lightly to keep them flowering longer. Propagate by taking cuttings from non flowering shoots in summer. They can survive temperatures as low as -27 degrees. They survive this in the ground rather than in pots. Make sure soil is well drained and avoid winter wet which can be harmful. Fully hardy perennial.
