Description

Aptly named for their attractive and exotic appearance, don't be fooled by their pretty but fragile look as Alstroemerias are incredibly hardy and robust garden plants. Delivering spectacular floral displays from June to November, they offer excellent value and unrivalled blooming from such an exotic-looking specimen.

Cultural Notes

  • Soil - Fertile and well drained.
  • Position - Full sun or partial shade in a sheltered spot
  • Cutting - Yes
  • Flowering - Summer, Autumn
  • Additional Information - Great for pots and borders. If the plant gets too hot in the summer they will stop flowering and put their effort to producing more tuberous roots. Can take between 12 to 16 weeks to grow. The roots of the plants resent disturbance so allow room for growth at planting time. Contact with foliage may aggravate skin allergies. Hardy perennial.
